Located in Hong Kong Science Park, InnoCell is a pilot project of using Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) in Hong Kong, where AEC was engaged as consultant to carry out consultancy services in acoustic design, green building and environmental assessment of the whole development. Besides, InnoCell has achieved the Provisional Platinum rating under BEAM Plus NB V1.2 in 2020, in which AEC Group served as BEAM Pro to provide green building certification consultancy services.

InnoCell is the first high-rise building of using MiC technology in Hong Kong, which is constructed by 418 modules and officially completed in April 2021 to provide around 500 residential units. MiC refers to an innovative construction method which adopts Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) technology to allow for pre-fabrication in a factory environment followed by on-site installation of building elements. With the application of MiC, the project will shorten the construction programme, improve the quality of the fit-out, reduce reworking & wastage, and resolve construction problems in advance. This also improves design coordination and work planning, and thus optimizing construction safety, time and cost.
