Co-organized by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), the World Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2017 Hong Kong (WSBE17 Hong Kong) was held on 5-7 June 2017 in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

As a gold sponsor of this 3-day international green building mega event, AEC hosted an exhibition and introduced our work to visitors from all over the world. Apart from the exhibition, we organized one of the Parallel Sessions, Emerging Practices in Sustainable Built Environment, at 13:30 – 15:00 on 6 June 2017. This Parallel Session focused on how sustainability best practices can be applied to local buildings with the aid of case studies. Speakers included representatives from AEC’s project team as well as facility and property management industry. Afterwards, we led a technical visit to one of the showcased green buildings, International Commerce Centre.

AEC also joined the Gala Dinner on 6 June 2017 and mingled with green building professionals from all over the world. We were excited to learn that two of our green building projects, Towngas Headquarters and Hang Seng Management College, were presented awards during the Gala Dinner; the former was recognized as the project gaining the Highest Score for BEAM Plus Existing Buildings, whereas the latter was recognized as the organization with the most BEAM Plus Final Platinum Projects. We were thankful to our clients for giving us the opportunity to participate in these two green building projects and to make a contribution to creating a sustainable built environment.

Our heartfelt congratulations go to CIC and HKGBC for organizing this international conference successfully. AEC enjoyed and treasured this opportunity to meet with green building professionals from all over the world and to exchange green building ideas with them. We look forward to the next World Sustainable Built Environment Conference to be held in Sweden in 2020.
