Dr. Kenny Siu, Senior Advisor of AEC Group, shared his insights into ESG rating agencies in Mainland China on Sing Pao column on 11 January 2021. Kenny mentioned that since the Chinese government has established the target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, environment-related investments have been growing. Together with the regulatory requirements for listed companies, the demand for ESG rating and data agencies in the Mainland China is on the rise. This helps funds or investors understand more about the projects as well as ESG-related performance of listed companies to stay away from the greenwashing ones.
